We use them on the river here all the time, typically cool water situations, rig them on a jig head, either pitch em to the shallows, or jig troll them.

No, they suck for walleyes! They are a bass bait only. You do not fish for bass. Send them to me. lol

They are great this time of year

Oh boy now we are talking my language. Ringworms are the bomb in cool water periods especially in current.Casting is my preference but also very deadly vertical jigging.I use a pile of ringworms for locating walleyes and then will switch up and throw some 5" Kalin Tails to try for the big girls.Don`t get me wrong I have caught a few big ones on the ringworms as well.Colors for me absolute goto is a purple with a white tail with charteuse pepper a close second.Cleaner water the natural colors will shine as well. Also dont be scared to throw them on a spinner rig you might be pleasantly surprised in the middle of the summer.Oversize hooks in the jig are a must one that gets overlooked alot for this is the Lindy X-change jig the hook size is perfect.

they work awesome for walleyes. we use them all year long and catch fish all year long on them. but whenever we go to depere thats all we use and just kill the fish. i mean more than the other guys catching fish. as soon as you started to reel in you had a fish hit. paddletails work good too. usually just pitch em up shallow to rocks or on shallow flats. you can vertical jig them too.

The best place I know of to get Ringworms and Soft Plastics is Everts Resort, Dean the proprietor has tested and refined what he stocks into the finest collection of plastics. Plus hair jigs plain jigs, the best equiptment to use, plus he is on Pool 4 of the Mississippi river some of the finest pitch'n water out there.

Shoot Dean an email or call him http://www.evertsfishingresort.com/services.html

Yep Dean is definatly your go to guy for specialized plastics and he is more then willing to put together some great variety packs and ship them to your door.Even better drive to the resort with the boat in tow and take a few plastics for a test drive on the river.I sure wish these 30 degree days would fall on the non-school days !!!!!! Urghhhhh!

all great info. you guys got some interesting color choices. I sold a 100 bag of V+M chart shad ringworms a while ago. That was a real nice color! my buddy is making some walleye jigheads with some smaller hooks so I gotta load up on some ring worms. thanks again.

First of all I have fished with these ringworms for many years now they are usually 4" in lenght. I know Dean and Brett very well and trust their endorsements 100%. Part of your question or concerns were (rigging) well at Evert's Resort not only will you find a tremendous assortment of "plastics" but "Hutch" has some great jigs on display there. There is a fine (wire) molded into the jig head when poured, if not already bent, you can make a small bend in the wire, this acts as a retainer to hold any plastic of you choosing, works great and eliminates the (bulk) of a collar, because as any river rat will tell you BULK and CURRENT don't mix . hope this helps and good hooksets.....
