Wow! Some pretty restrictive policies there. I personally believe if an angler is established with sponsors, they should be able to wear their logos proudly. I understand about the alcohol and tobacco being restricted due to the job as a role model for kids. However, I would feel uncomfortable telling my sponsor that I can't wear their logo during any FLW event I may fish. While I do not fish the FLW, but was looking forward to fishing the League events before they were dropped, I don't think that is fair to the anglers and their sponsors. Business being business, I guess whatever your contract is agreed upon is the way it is. Not bashing, just providing my personal opinion. If I was a sponsor, I would not be very comfortable with this either. I'm done now! Good luck this year to all of you!

I think it's a very big step for FLW and allowing anglers to promote their sponsors. I understand it limits anglers to just non competing sponsors, but right now, something is better than nothing. FLW has stood strong on this for so long, but they realize it's important for not only the future of FLW Outdoors, but also for the anglers that fish and the industry as a whole. Great move FLW!

Where are the walleye events in this scheme... Do "Tour" mean Walleye Tour?

I don't think the FLW Walleye Tour will have TV coverage this year. If that's that case, I don't think they have any limitations as to what an angler wears. I think these rule changes are for the TV events mainly, if I understand things correctly.

Pretty much all the recent releases from FLW/Jacobs Interactive have been about bass as far as I can tell, but don't actually say so.

The way I read it, the only limitation is on tobbaco products, as in not allowed period.

I can't wait to see the response to one particular boat wrap and logo'd shirt on stage this year!

Shep,

Did you get a sponsorship from Pall Mall over the winter?

Doubt any tobbaco company would sponsor me. I quit smoking over 5 years ago! Now I can't wait for July 1st!
