Location: Stevens Point, WI | The 128 boat field left Barto Landing this morning amidst a blustery overcast day with winds predicted at 15-20 mph out of the NNE and a slight chance of showers. The weather didn't really seem to be an issue with most; the teams mentioned in interviews this morning how the current dwindled yesterday and fish moved more freely throughout the system, making it tougher to stay on fish.
First place team Kevin Dahl and Steve Stack of Muskego, WI said the key for them yesterday was their speed. Slowing down their jigging presentation and focusing on each bite was thier key to boating nicer fish in the middle of other boat traffic.
Second place Team Giachetto, a father and son team from Ladd, IL, said they were just going out fishing and plan to stick to their original game plan that put them in second place.
Watch for videos and images from the Day Two morning activities soon.

Location: Berlin | What a tournament. What a fishery. Awesome coverage, awesome time even with a bubble finish.
Dan Palmer did a fantastic job and with this years unreal bite I bet you see the entries up a ton next year. LOTS of small saugers and walleye right now. You could literally catch hundreds at multiple spots. It seemed like they were everywhere and they were hungry. I can't wait to see this in a few years.
Steve and TJ, thanks for the great memories. This was my partners 1st walleye tournament and now he has plenty of coverage to bring back the memories. I wish we could have brought him home a plaque but we did the best we could and got ohhhhhhh so close. Anyway, you guys rock. Keep up the good work! |

Location: Berlin | Dave, it was a great time. MWC has an east division you might be interested in and if there is any chance you can make Spring Valley I would highly recommend it. As long as it does not flood it is a great time. |

| Funny you mention that, I was thinking the same thing after checking out the site... I will keep this in mind for next spring. If I'm gonna drive all those miles, the place better be loaded... bookmarked the site and you guys here always keep things up to date...
Now if they had a "northeast" division... that would be great... |

Location: Berlin | If you drive all that way, pick up Komo and hang out with us I bet you will be loaded
Komo described the place best as a love/hate relationship. Just pray you pick a "love" year like this one was. |

| Komo, it's just not the same without you down here. Any chance you moving back to the Land of Lincoln?
By the way, we have not heard much for chicken reports in Buffalo. Just wondering how you were surviving without fishin the ditch and eatin at Rip's? |

Location: Orland Park, IL | I indeed miss fishing the ditch. we have wings galore, although the mexican and fried chicken combinations seem to be missing. Good for the chloresteral (doc says down to 155). Good hearing from ya Adam.
And congrats to the Winners. Excellent job. This was the year. Good weather, good fishing, great baskets, and river in nice shape. This was the MWC we were all waiting for. |

| Mark Komo - 3/31/2010 12:29 PM "Drinks for all my friends" Mickey Rourke "Barfly". Plus the biggest prime rib you will ever see (Rolandos in Hennepin). You better stick to reviewing chicken, Komo... I'll put the Black Otter's (Hortonville, WI) 160 ounce prime rib up against any Illinois rump roast... |
