| I've been trying to gather some info on a quality rod/reel combo. I will be using the combos for rigging and pulling flies. I would like a flip'in switch reel. Can anyone help me narrow my search down with some proven winners. Right now I'm leaning towards the Bass Pro combo. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

| I recently went through the same process. I chose the Shimano Castaic 200SF and matched it with a Shimano Compre CPC-X70MHB. I tried them out on the Illinois River and loved the flippin' switch. The drag is awesome and the extra-fast tip allowed me to keep excellent contact with the bottom and detect the light biters. Good luck in your search!

| Kirt, the Black Max, does not come with the flipping switch in the left handed model! Although if you are right handed this is a excellent choice!
Good Luck

| Gotta get a right and left hand reel. Then you can take up slack on either by using your leg. Reel handles to the inside. You don't need to spend a lot for this to work well. I like a short rod for pulling flies, 6' or less.

Location: Elgin, Illinois | I use the BPS Extremes w/flippin switch and am very happy with the reels....
Dicks Sporting Goods says on their website that the Black Max DOES have a flippin switch in then left handed model... I will be checking that out in person... I'd love to have that feature for leg reeling!

Location: Colgate, WI | I use the Bass Pro bottom bouncer rods and the Quantom Accurist reels. They come with the flipping switch. Buy one left hand and one right hand and you are set!

Location: Elgin, Illinois | I picked up a right and left hand Abu Black Max Saturday at Dicks. $50.00 each... They should work great for pulling tghree ways. At that price I was satisfied with the free spool and hope they hold up.

| Thanks everyone for your help. I did purchase the BPS Extreme reels w/flippin switch and 7'0 bottom bouncer rod combo. With limited use so far, I'm very happy with those combos. I tought they were priced very fairly. |
