| I didn't even bother to ask this question on Muskie first forum, as almost everyone on that forum has a lack of knowledge of the Wolf River. I thought I would go to the people who know the Wolf River best. Are their Muskie in the Wolf? I have caught them at the dam in Shawano, but are they as far down as New London and Fremont?

| I also know that Poygan has them too, I have caught some walleye fishing there over the years. Personally I think Poygan Bago and Buttes Des Morts is a very underrated muskie fishery. I just never herd anything about anybody fishing or catching them in the Wolf. Its always been on my to do list during the summer but I usually loose faith in it and end up not doing it. Dave after hearing what you told me I am for sure going to give it a shot this summer. Ill be fishing it blind but thats always the fun of trying a new body of water. Where did you catch it about? If you don't want to tell no hard feelings, if the river is holding one there are bound to be more. |

| Eyehunter, first off thanks, this give me some more confidence in the Wolf. My bad for the title of this thread, it should of been for titled Muskies on the Wolf? Now I know I'm getting picky here and pushing me luck with this one but has anyone seen or hear of anyone catching one around or bigger than 40 inches? |

| I am not an expert, but I once stayed at a Holiday inn. About 4 or 5 years ago, I saw a muskie landed near the mouth of Partridge lake in the Wolf river that was in the 45-48" range, it also appeared to be a natural and not a stocked Spotted.
good luck in your endeavors. |

| The wife caught a 42 inch by nipple beach last year in 3 ft of water jigging for walleyes. Had one in the high 40 inch range smash my board trolling on Clarks bay last summer. My uncle caught and released around 12 over the years on Poygan. Biggest was 51.5 inch. They are there but we are usually fishing walleyes so were not tackled up for muskies. Good luck. |

| I have picked up Muskys between Gills and New London in the fall while fishing for pike including some really nice fish. |

| stick bait, thats what i like to hear, that is the section of river that i know the best. I usually launch at Weiland's so it puts me right in the middle, as i usually never go any farther up than Partridge Crop Lake. |
