During the very spirited discussion on tourney marketing earlier this month, I posted that Scott Steil would be webcasting live from his boat while pre-fishing for the FLW. he has been joined in that effort by Mark Courts and Jason Przekurat. You can watch them at

I talked to Jason about this last week while we were fishing. There are going to be some more big surprises in store for us walleye fans and I think this is just the tip of the iceburg. Great to see some anglers who "get it" and are pushing things for the positive of walleye tournament fishing. Anglers seem to be driving many of the decisions made by some of these circuits, be that good or bad.

Now only if it wouldn't buffer every two seconds, awfully choppy stream. Good stuff otherwise.

Thanks for the compliments on the new site. It is still a work in progress but it gets better every day. If you are viewing and getting the buffering all the time that is on your end. To view all 3 anglers at one time it takes a very fast connection. If you are getting a lot of buffering, click on each anglers picture from the home page and you will only be viewing one at a time and it should be a perfect live stream. Thanks again for all the great feedback.

I viewed it on a several hundred megabit pipe and it still buffered constantly for me. That means your upstream bandwidth was not adequate for the bitrate of the video you were trying to push up.

Unfortunately that is the state of our cellular data service, especially in non-metro locations, and you should not expect to get reliably constant bitrates out of that device, especially when moving around. It's getting better in spots, but not at a very fast rate. That being said, there a least was enough there to tell what was going on.

However, even though the video quality was poor, and the frame rate constantly changing or dropping out, I still forsee your biggest challenge being how to make a static shot of someone prefishing even remotely entertaining.

I watched today. I had no problem watching all three guys at the same time on a basic cable connection. Hard to get my work done when I'm watching guys fish fish the same river I fish. Keep up the good work.

Sometimes the feed will work, and sometimes it won't so very well. Nature of the technology at this point, so as synopsis said, it'll be OK in some places and at some times, and rough others. Should be of interest if the fish are going!

Here's a trick to help maximize your Media Player to help if there's lots of buffering. Won't help much if the upstream is soft, but it's worth a try.

Right click on the player. Click on Options. Your player will probably be set on 'buffer 5 seconds of content'. Change that number to 30 and see if that helps. It won't improve video quality or help sync audio, but it MIGHT help the buffering issue mentioned in an earlier post.

Yes there are areas we prefish in the river where you can't make a cell call so I know service is bad in areas and we see that on our end. We do what we can and my guess is that during the tournament the feed will be excellent.

The feed looks good today, I did the 30 second buffer and the choppiness is pretty much gone right now.

I've got a good feed too. Scott and Mark are doing a great job 'playing' to the medium - lots of conversation geared toward tourney fishing

I made some adjustments while on the water today and tested them against Marks. I think I got a majority of the issues resolved today for those getting the buffering. Check back tomorrow, it is much improved already. Thanks again for all the support.
