Location: Rhinelander | A 'tough' prefish, locking through to travel to distant waters, and reports of few...and not so few fish per day leading up to today punctuated the morning AIM interviews on Day One of the Bay Mills Invitational. This is an artificial lures only event, adding an additional layer of intrigue.
Some of the Pros are indeed having difficulty finding numbers of fish. The system here is absolutely massive, though, so there's certainly no shortage of 'spots' to hit and crowding of any kind is non existent.
The conditions are almost perfect today. Highs in the 60's to low 70's, light cloud cover and easy winds are forecast for the day.
The live weigh in will begin at about 4 PM central.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | North Dakota pro Jim Carroll only CPR'd two fish on Day One, but they were the right ones. Carroll's two 30+ inch fish had a CPR'd weight of 23.58 pounds, giving him the early lead at the AIM Bay Mills Invitational. Rich Boggs sits in a close second place with a CPR'd limit that weighed 22.26 pounds.
Over two-thirds of the 43 boat field chose to lock through the Soo Lock which is downtown Sault St. Marie. Armed only with Artificial lures, the field's success varied with just about every walleye catching tactic in the book coming into play.
The weather looks to remain much the same for Day Two but with a slight chance of showers in late afternoon.
