Today I got a heavy oil leak somewhere...oil filled up the bottom the motor cowl. I followed the twin hose from the external reservoir tank. One side goes into the block near the bottom (starboard side), the other goes to a square bass T-fitting.

One hose off of the T-fitting goes up to the internal oil tank, the other hose is about 5 or 6" long and was connected to nothing. I am assuming this is where the oil was running out from. It hung staright down, kind of behind the starter. I can't see anything this should be connected to.

I will run it on the hose and verify that is where the leak is coming from tomorrow and take some pics. I fely like BP at the boat launch with my big oil slick...

Any ideas? It's a '91 Merc 135 HP (BlackMax

The hose hanging down from the brass fitting is a breather.
Check oil pump lines or return lines. Return lines are on the side of the block and go to intake. my guess is one of them is off.

Thanks, Schmitty. I ran it last night and found the line out of the internal tank was cracked and leaking. A new chunk of hose and she's good to go.
