I have fish pool 9 for approx. 15 years now and spent last week up on pool 9. We cought a few nice fish each day, put really had to work hard. I don't know if the bite was rather tough or if that pool is just lacking fish??? Wonder if Wisconsin DNR ever consider a slot or closing the spawning ground down during the spawn?

I think a lot of it has to do with current water situations. Flow is high but the water level isn't up. There's not enough water to really push those fish deep into the sloughs, and at the same time the flow is high enough that you need to be pretty selective on the wing dams you fish due to the high flow.

We've been catching some fish on wing dams, but they don't seem to be stacked up on any one dam. We catch a few on any given dam, then have to move. The good news is, they are hitting cranks when we've been casting, which allows us to cover more water.
