Does anyone know what happened to the Bassmasters on ESPN?

As I understand it, ESPN eliminated all outdoors programming.

Hey Adam,

ESPN is eliminating their outdoor programming with the exception of Bassmasters. That might change if they end up selling BASS. ESPN execs say that the outdoor programming does not fit the image they wish to project. Instead they will be replacing this programming with soccer and Nascar among other things. This article does a nice job of summarizing ESPN's history of Bass tournament coverage http://bassfan.com/news_article.asp?ID=3629.

BTW how is the river bite?

Its a shame on you to ESPN for that one. Good for Versus tho,I hear they might be picking up some of the guys. I have been down fishing the keys a few times, always fun picking out the backround shots of where they are. Viver, hitting the creek in a couple of weeks for the AYA, its been roaring from all the rain we had here.

Man, I musta been sleeping... too much work! as a former wannabe on the bassmaster trail from way back, could see this coming. guys talked about in that article... I was with them, along with Ike. crammed into rooms, cabins, back seats... trying to get it started... was too soon for me... Flamed out very hard. others stuck with it. I think the "elite' level was just too much... ESPN was not good coverage anyway... this tourney thing changes... all the time... bass and walleye... I always thought fishing coverage on a sat morning to be stupid... If you enjoy fishing, what are you going to be doing sat morning?? I always thought B.A.S.S. was a little crazy anyway. but only show in town for a long time. anything started by an insurance salesman is questionable in my eyes... $$$$
tourney angles are coming together some... PAA Aim etc. I think the next few years will be good for walleye and bass tourneys...
One more thing... I have a new hero... I was fishing last fall, on Champlain... I was 90 miles away from the FLW event in the extreme southern part on the lake... after I fished for awhile, this guy came by... ran 90+ miles to fish on a rough day... then he had to go back...
"Tommy Biffle, notorious for being a man of few words, summed up his thoughts in a single sentence: "It doesn't matter to me – there'll be a tournament somewhere."

I like that...

Thanks guys.
Rocky, see you on the water at the AYA. If the water is decent, the bite should be outstanding. Those fish haven't been touched since the last week in April.
