| like it... my suit now is about done... |

| It looks like a nice suit, although anyone familiar with new products knows.....that the first people that endorse how wonderful something is absolutely is paid to do so and rave about how incredible the new technology is........How about letting some of us "real" people try it and then get us together and give a report. I'm not saying this gear isn't good, but c'mon your excitement over a news conference isn't real, has anyone ever seen or heard Al say something bad for which he is being paid? He's a great guy and I respect his opinion but he used to swear that gulp was the next coming of all you'll ever need, and now that he isn't sponsered by Berkely, does that mean gulp isn't any good now? Send me a suit to try in absolute conditions and then get back to me in 6 months, I'll tell you what you need to know, not waht you want to hear. |

Location: Rhinelander | Yes, we've seen the Storm suit and the prototypes. We have watched the development for over a year now by the same designers who built the Snosuit. The same innovative thinking that went into that product went into this one.
Examples: Articulated PADDED knees in the bibs. That's not a big deal until you wear a set...movement and sitting/kneeling in the rain is MUCH more comfortable now, kneeling in the boat in a down pour isn't a project of rain pants adjustment, and the knees are padded. My Snosuit has the same system; those winter busting bibs and jacket are the most comfortable I have ever worn, and I've tried many extreme cold weather outerwear solutions.
A unique rear-vented hood with an innovative multi-adjustable design for collar, chin flap, and hood itself allows for customizing the hood to fit YOU. When under way in the boat, if wind catches the hood, the back of the hood is vented with a very well designed system that allows the air to escape without allowing water in. That does two things; makes the hood as comfortable and stable to wear as a helmet...just way lighter, and keeps you dry. The cuffs are designed to keep water out, and as a muskie angler with my wrists pointed up into the rain allot, that's important.
The fabric is waterproof, breathable, and tough...AND teflon impregnated. I know from my Snosuits ( I have two, I liked the new Snosuit so well I looked for one of the prototype one piece models for hunting and extreme weather tip-up fishing with no shelter available) that means the suit will stay clean, no water will get through the first line of defense, and the stuff actually renews itself when washed and dried.
The crotch design in the new gear is really unique. Best description is a team of the YKK water rsistant zipper, and sort of a 'dry bag' design. Personally this is my favorite innovation on this foul weather gear.
I hate being uncomfortable out there in bad weather. This suit will fix that for good, just like the Snosuit did for me on the Ice.
Al didn't just receive a suit and proclaim it up to muster; he and his team worked with the designer/manufacturer and changed the design several times until it was what he and Ron deemed to be as good as it can get. Al's independently wealthy, and doesn't 'need' to endorse anything at this point in his career. He chose to take on the project because he felt the 'ultimate' storm suit would be the result and was truly motivated to assist in that happening. I talked to AL and Ron about this project as it began. These two guys are still as excited about innovations and new products as when they were newbies.
Your Gulp example makes no sense...I've never heard Al say anything negative about that very effective bait.
Many many many innovations in the sport have occurred when anglers who make their living on the water team with a designer who's willing to redesign until the end product performs to expectations. Discounting that fact because you don't have one yet is sorta short sighted, but expected, especially by anonymous folks on internet messageboards.
This suit truly IS the foul weather gear I've been waiting for someone to build, and I AM truly excited about the news conference because that means the Storm suit is hitting the market and I finally can order mine.
I'm especially looking forward to using the Strom Suit and Snosuit systems late season hunting and late November Muskie fishing this year.

| If this suit is REALLY WATERPROOF... then I'd buy one. I've never worn a suit that did not leak after a couple of months, incliding Gortex, Cabels, Gander Mountain, Sterns. Every piece of rain gear I've ever owned has leaked around the seams and the zippers. Good luck with the new product, I'll be the first to buy it when someone who is not being paid to endorse it, tells me it's the best thing they have every owned... I'v been the test guy for new rain gear too many times. Purple Skeeter |

| nice - 7/10/2010 4:16 PM whats the retail price of the suit gonna go? any clue The Sno-Suit is $500 for the jacket and bibs. I am guessing the Storm Suit won't be any cheaper than that...of course I could be wrong. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Thumper, the Storm Suit will be price accordingly to similar suits. The Sno-Suit is completely different and a lot more to them. If you ever tried one, you wouldn't ever wear anything else! |

| sitkagear.com and thats all i gotta say bout that. but for a spring only suit...500 is a killer |

I am looking forward to seeing one of these suits up close as well. Sounds like alot of development went into making this suit different from all the others. Sounds like the suit could be a great one from Late Ice all the way thru Late Fall fishing.
From what I am hearing the retail price is going to be very competitive when comparing it to other suits that are out there as well. It won't be 500, I know that much. |

Location: Rhinelander | Tyee,
The $500 ticket is for the Snosuit...and it's worth every penny.
Stand by tomorrow at 3 PM for the retail on the Storm Suit. |

| So.... how much for the greatest invention since sliced bread? |
|
|
|
| $400. Not bad when you look at other manufacturers offering suits for that price as well. |
|
|
|
| How is the rainsuit when it comes to cold weather? I live in Georgia nad we don't see really cold temps but I hate to buy a great suit like this and only wear it in the spring and fall. |
|
|
|

Location: Rhinelander | I wouldn't categorize it as a cold weather suit, but it's totally wind proof and waterproof, so with high quality undergarments, it's be warm enough. |

I agree. Most rainsuits will keep you dry from vertical water fall. But NONE, as you say, will keep you dry from the water we face as fishermen--horizontal water. I have $3000 worth of rainsuits hanging here that prove that..... |
|
|
|

Location: Rhinelander | Well, Mr. Fellegy, this one is really waterproof. I spent the winter in the Snow Suit (winter foul weather and extreme temperature suit), and in any other winter wear I'd have been wet a dozen times...not so much as wet cuffs, even in driving wet snow.
This one is DESIGNED to take the 'horizontal rain' and hand it back to mother nature. Take a moment to look at the design and watch the videos, and you'll see what I mean.
