Do they still replace rods that have broke rod tips at no charge or is that long gone benefit? Also is price cheaper buying at the outlet?

Prices are not cheaper at outlet store. They will help you out with broken rod usually 50 bucks if its under warrenty yet will get you a new rod. Or if you want to upgrade to a higher model say from a AVID to a Legend Tournament they will give you a value for your rod plus you pay the balance to get the new rod. Make sense?? There offers helped me out

I cannot ad to the info above other than to say I recently had an issue with a St Croix rod....I have an ultralight that had the tip broken and then the top half of the 2 piece rod was run over by a pickup truck. Long story, suffice it to say my 15 year old and 10 year old sons were involved.....

Since the rod is over 20 years old I am sure the warranty is long gone...like it was ever warranted against kids breaking the rod by abuse and them a truck running it over. Good rods though, so I will be replacing it with whatever St Croix has that is similar. Sure got my money's worth out of that rod!

Sorry for the hijack...back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

I've broke several St. Croix rods and I've had some replaced no charge and the maximum charge has been $50. Shipping is the worst part so save them and go visit the store once and awhile. They do have some deals at the outlet store. Some people exchange rods for an upgrade like a tournament upgrade to legend elite. Last year ice fishing rods were 1/2 price

My fishing partner stepped on one of my Avid series rods and snapped the tip off. I gave the tip and rod to the owner of the bait shop I frequent and he said he was running up to St Croix headquarters within the week. He came back and gave me a brand new rod, no questions asked from St Croix.

they'll replace the $220 rod YOU broke for $70.
The only rods that won't be replaced at discount or no charge are the $30 dollar used rods in the outlet store.
