Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to all 84 teams that fished the MWS Menominee tournament.
The weather cooperated and light winds and sun all day. Several teams said with the lighter winds their bite changed and would have liked a little more wind. Most of the success on crawler harnesses and the teams fished many different locations with good action at many locations. Fifty five teams weighed a four fish limit. There was a total of 274 fish caught weighing a total of 1843#
The husband wife team of Ron Goldapske and Vickie Goldapske took first place with a four fish limit weighing 38.84 # winning them $3,600. This was a new series big basket. Second place went to the team of Mike Bonow and Dave Knueppel with four fish totaling 36.02# for $2,000. Third place went to the team of Louis Apitz and Pat Raaths with four fish weighing 35.16# for $1,100. Louis and Pat also had the big fish of the tournament with their 12.58# walleye winning them two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy, a Accudepth reel and a Diawa rod donated by Marine General, a Drop-n-Stay and two one hundred dollar Mack’s Lures gift certificates, an assortment of Jack’s Jigs donated by Jack’s Jigs and two spools of Triple Fish Line donated by Triple Fish. This is the largest walleye caught in any MWS tournament. Fourth place went to the team of Adam Adler and Ryan Dempsey with four fish weighing 34.26# for $850. Fifth place went to the team of Nate Curell and Tom Gatzke with 33.88# four fish weighing 33.88# for $700.
Mr Walleye Rods award went to the team of Joe Marshall and Scott Zupon

Intruder Products award went to the team of Jeff Oskey and Mike Polzin.

| just curious how many of you think there was culling in this tourney to end up with a 38 lb bag ? wow fish would have to definetly come in the right order for that to work out or Ron and Vickie had set the bar pretty high, just thinking there are a lot of 6-7 lb fish being caught right now, congrats on an awesome weight |
|
|
|
| of course there was culling...you cando that |

| Not sure about culling, word at the tourney was that they had two more "skinny" 29 inch fish in their livewell that swallowed the harness and died. In order to cull they would have had to work more than 10 fish through their livewell and I'm sure catching that many good fish they knew they were on the right bite and didn't have to throw a 27" fish in the livewell.
Congrats Ron and Vicki for the win and all those that qualified for the Championship. |

| Bill,
Go play somewhere else.
This is a great circuit that everyone knows the playing field and also gives back to the fishing industry and communities they fish in. |

| Great weights, wow!!! What were water temps up there?I've heard they've been higher than normal. How was the weigh-in? Was it a catch and kill tourney? If not, how were live release rates in that warmer water?
Congrats to the winners, that's a monster bag!!!! |

| it was awsome, to bad we can,t mr worrall to cover the championship, that would be awsome.. the fishing talent is second to none, to have this many great sticks male and female in any one circuit is un heard of,, and they keep getting better, I think that the MWS is the only team circuit that countiues to grow? team wise, also sponsors the sponsors are getting a bang for there buck. The champoinship and banquet is always great, and each time you get to meet new fisher people, it,s always been a great time. any fans outhere, you can purchase banquet tickets from Jim Come meet everyone see what the champioship is all about,, It will a great shoot, And Mr. Worrall every once and a while i get PMS, and i will personaly say i'm sorry if affended you in any way thank you Jim Pyle. Location: Appleton | First of all THANKS for all the positive comments from everyone. It is appreciated by Ray and myself as well as the entire staff. Also a big THANKS to all the sponsors for your support without which we could not run the MWS. Also a big THANKS to all the anglers that supported and fished the MWS over the past nine years.
The Midwest Outdoors show coverage will air on Midwest Outdoors TV however they do not have a date set. They got some good coverage on the water as well take off and weigh in and awards presentation. As soon as I get a date and time I will post the information.
