| First aid kit.
Short pieces of lathe for kindling.
Matches.
Nylon string.
Hatchet
Roll of TP.
All kept in a small back pack with my Frogg Togg rain gear. I'm on a northern Minnesota lake with lots of rocks and few cabins. Never know when I'll take out the lower unit and need to spend a night.
Of course the number one thing is my life jacket which I wear if the big motor is running. |

Location: LaCrosse, WI | A mini bolt cutters is a good idea. Never know when somebody's going to motor up to you with a rattle trap hanging off their ear. |

Location: Chicago IL. | Rich your wacked. Better stop right now eating fish out of the fox river. I just have a basic kit thats out there. I bought the large one, it has everything in it that I need. And that is right as far as CPR goes. Dont stop to give breaths. Sorry Rich, that passing out thing you do wont work anymore, your only going to get a sore chest!!!! HAHAHAHAHA |

For very remote areas you can RENT sat. phones for short periods. Don't know the cost though. |
