I have a 2 year old trailer with brakes and it has just started jerking when I come to a stop and go to take off again. It almost seems like there is too much movement in the tounge of the trailer.Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there a solution?

Yep. Sounds like low brake fluid level.

Where to look depends on your trailer and who made it. Do you still have the manual? or are you close enough to the dealership to have them check it and show you the ropes?

You will get that "feeling" if when you drop the hitch on the ball, the fork that should be under the ball is pushed above it. In other words, your trailer isn't locked on the hitch even though you locked down the snap because what should be under is on top of the ball. If you hit a big bump, you will be on your safety chains instead of the ball.
