Location: Stevens Point, WI | Wind, rain, and overcast greeted the FLW Championship field on Day 2 at Leech Lake in Walker, MN. Leader Kevin Merrill said he was quite surprised by his luck yesterday, boating two fish in the over category, meaning 26 inches or better. He said his practice was actually quite tough, not even boating an over in a week of prefishing.
Local pro Brian Brosdahl said this morning that fishing has been stellar and he said he's just going out and fishing Minnesota style with his transom into the wind and a rigging rod in one hand.
Even though the weather could make boat control a bit more difficult today, the pros WalleyeFIRST talked with this morning all seemed optimistic and even welcomed the incoming weather.

| 9+" of rain in the Minneapolis area and it's still raining, these guys have got to be water logged.
Game changer? | |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Filkins in first place!!! Way to go Terry!!!
BTW....what is the format for this championship? Do all the weights go to zero after the qualifying or do they carry over their weights?

Location: Manitowoc, WI | I found the answer. It's not like it was a few years ago. I copied it from the FLW Tour rules: On day 3 of qualifying events, the top 10 pros and co-anglers based on combined weight from days 1 and 2 compete, and the winners are determined by the heaviest combined weight from days 1, 2 and 3. On days 3 and 4 of the FLW Walleye Tour Championship, the top 10 pros and co-anglers based on combined weight from days 1 and 2 compete, and the winners are determined by the heaviest combined weight from days 1, 2, 3 and 4.
That sits well for the front runners.....the way it should be!!

Location: Stevens Point, WI | The wind, rain and overcast didn't seem to bother this championship field, some even praised the front today. Weighing in one of the largest bags on Day 2, Pat Byle brought a five fish limit to the scales that weighed 16 pounds, 11 ounces, moving him into the top spot with 30 pounds, 9 ounces after two days of competition.
Second place after Day 1, Terry Filkins remained consistent adding another 14 pounds to his catch, giving him 28 pounds, 8 ounces and second place. Chris Gilman holds down third place with 25 pounds, 12 ounces.
The man on the move today was Mark Courts who was in 13th place after Day 1, now sits in fourth place with 23 pounds, 10 ounces.

| Come on Terry
Remember that anglers are only allowed four fish today so Filkins is halfway there.

Filkins with another under. He's now sitting pretty with two in the box.
