Why the two Green Bay events only 2 weeks apart?

Being two weeks apart, better to keep them where they are.

I know it's hard to please everyone with dates and locations. Personally I think the schedule is great. Jim, Ray and the whole MWS crew do an excellent job from start to finish. I have meet some great people and excellent fisherman through the Midwest Walleye Series The schedule is out nice and early so mark your calendars.

I agree with the NTC between them on August 6th and 7th it will be hectic for many not to mention we are holding our 6th annual Sheboygan Walleye Club "Battle On The Bay" out of Oconto on August 14th also.

Well The Battle On The Bay is no threat to the MWS. From what I can see atleast 12 teams that fished the Battle last year have been fishing the MWS for years. So what we thought was a growing tournament will more than likley be down next year due to bad planing. With the Battle at aprox 35 teams and the MWS at 90 or more the payout will be better in Menominee.

I hope that's not the case... Hard to grow tournament numbers when the directors arn't on the same page, fished the first time in the B.O.B last year for the first time in two years with several other MWSers due to the fact it did'nt conflict with a series event, it was awesome and well run, and I had looked forward to doing it next year, but I guess that won't be happening... Unfortunately for B.O.B the draw to more money and closer to the fishing will go to the MWS and I wouldn't be suprised that the numbers are far fewer than the previously mentioned 35, and that sucks...

Guest... who are you saying was doing the "bad planning" We have held our BotB on the same weekend for the last 5 seasons. The second full weekend in August. The MWS is the group that keeps moving their dates and locations around. I believe we filed our permit paperwork quite a while ago.

The comment I agree with is the fact that we can not work together better for planning aroud each other. Believe me it is not for lack of trying.

Fin, the series would be pretty reduntant if it had the same date and locations year after year. SWC rotates locations and times of the club series events.

620 I agree about the redundancy issue and it is good to see a series mix it up.

The BotB is not really a series it is a single event which we have held on the same date for 5 years. I was just wondering who "Guest" was thinking was doing the poor planning.

I don’t fish the MWS series for several reasons none of which have anything to do with the series or the coordinators etc. They are all just personal reasons, beside summer gets so bus already. I try to pick and choose when I can squeeze in a tournament here and there.

I just hope that the MWS folks did not schedule the second Green Bay event on top of the BotB with a purpose..... It seems that way when you stack both Green Bay MWS events with only a week in-between.

I could be off base and that is fine.

I spoke with Jim on the schedule change, which was due to the NTC date and had nothing to do with the Battle on the Bay. He also stated the move to the Bay rather than Winnebago was a request by the anglers as the August Winnebago bite has been poor the past couple years. They had other commitments so they could not do it a week later or a week earlier, but he stressed that it was not intended to cause any intentional conflict with the Battle on the Bay.
