| How would you guys compare a Ranger 361 V to a Lund 1800 Pro V for ride ? I have had a few local dealers tell me they are comparale, but I am thinking of going from the Ranger to the Lund. Any inoput is appreciated. |

Location: Appleton, WI | Your not even comparing apples to apples!! A Glass hull will always ride softer than a aluminum hull. As long as there compairable lengths that is! |

| A glass boat always has a better ride , but from my experience on erie in my 18 pro v get off the gass and ALL IS GOOD ! And if you want the finest , well built , fastest ( in rough water ) , built by fishermen for fishermen boat ! Buy a Lund GL . They run circles around ANY other boat on erie ! |

| Glass Deep V will usually give a better ride in the rough stuff. I've never been in a glass bassboat that didn't have an awful ride in the rough stuff. Advantage Lund 1800 here.

I have and that particular boat would drive circles around the 1800. Granted it was 1' longer though.
The newer bass boat hulls ride AMAZINGLY smooth. Most manufacturers have a go-fast boat and a deeper version bass boat for big water. If you have not been in one for a while you should try it. We walleye guys are in the dark on this issue, trust me.

But no way a conventional bassboat like the 361 handles 3+ footers as well as the 1800. Just gotta ask what you'd rather be on Green Bay in when the weather turns bad. |

I am not familiar with the 361 but would take a Pantera IV in 3+ footers over a 1800 all day every day. (I know he did not ask about the PIV but Ihad to throw that in for all you walleye boat lovers). Sorry for the minor thread jack

| I appreciate the feedback. Looks like a mixed review, but you walleye guys seem to prefer the Lund. I am thinking of selling the 361 V and picking up the Lund. On the 1800 Pro v were there any noted issues in the 98 era, or with the 150 Optimax from that era. I plan on taking the boat in for an inspection and compression and leak down test, but any other thoughts.??
I really appreciate the input as this is a buig change I am considering going from a bass to a walleye boat. |

| I sold both.
When it is really rough you aren't going to be going 40-50mph, anyway.
A lot of how a boat is riding is ...in the skill of the driver.
Which one suits your fishing better?
