I was always planning on a 4 or 6 hp Merc or Nissan kicker for my Lund 1775 Classic Sport. I moved to Indiana and a lot of the lakes near me are electric only. How well would a MK Traxxis 80 work on my boat. I still get back to bigger water like Lake Erie, Detroit River, and I like to troll for Stripers on the big lakes down here.

One thing you could consider......A bow mount wireless or electric steer motor on the transom. Especially if you have wide gunnells you should have no problems with mounting.

This way you can get a higher thrust motor, and can still fish from the front of the boat-either with the wire stretched to the front, or with a wireless pedal.

Eventually I would like to upgrade my bow mount motor to a higher LB thrust, and move the current bow motor to the transom/gunnel.
