| Team Rick Bryson (Arcadia) and Galen Bremmer (Avoca) win the MMWS season open tournament on Pool 5 in Alma, WI with an impressive 15.03#s of Mississippi River Walleyes. Included in their bag was a nice 6.08# female, netting them a check for $560.00. Rick and Galen pitched jigs with plastics in an area by locals called the "Wiggle Waggle" below the fishing float.
Team Jeremy Schreiner and Jess Stewart took BIG FISH honors with a magnum 10.08# walleye they caught while trolling three ways and crankbaits in off current eddys.
Teams were faced with unseasonably cold March day and a flooded Mississippi River which was swelled outside it's banks. The anglers perserveared and most teams had a full four fish limit of mixed walleyes and saugers.
A special thanks goes out the people and businesses of Alma and the surrounding area for their warm hospitality. Next stop is Pools 8&9 in Genoa, WI on April 17th. If you would like an entry form please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will gladly get you one. Entry deadline for the next event is April 12th and is limited to a 50 boat field... don't delay. *Attachment at bottom for rules & entry form.*
