So does any one know what is happening on central. It was up for awhile on sunday and they made a post about what was happening. But she is gone again. Hate to bring it up on here but i am sure inquiring minds want to know.

It's back up now, with one side's explanation of what happened. Just too bad it happened during the RCL Championship. Well, at least I could listen to FLW Live the first 3 days. Saturday, I was fishin, not workin! hehehe

I just tried WC and I get a page not found message. I can't get in if it is up and working. I knew when they switched to this last server they were in for trouble. I will be glad once it is all back to normal.

I have not been able to get back in either. I am calling my internet provider and asking them to update their DNS files. Also ask them to try and get in to the site. As of 20 minutes ago the site was up and running, and Scott said it had been up since Early in the weekend, but if your isp does not update their DNS files you will always be sent back to the old site.

Patience.

As to what happened, I am not getting in the middle of it. Let the parties directly concerned handle it.

I just clicked on the link in my IE "Favorites" list and connected just fine. The new IP address shouldn't keep anyone off of their site. That should only happen if the URL changes, which it didn't.

Not a computer guru , and haven't been able to get into WC. Type in typical command and no site is found. (WWW.Walleyecentral.com). See the notes on new IP nos. Am assuming this must be some sort of Internet Provider or something. Anyone else still having trouble , and what/where do you enter a new IP to access ? Help...

Copy the IP addy that Sunshine furnished, and paste it in the address window. Hit enter, and it should take you there. Then you can bookmark it.

Well that IP gets me to the main page although all the links to pages within don't work, do they all get new IP's also? Road Runner better get their act together and make it available tomorrow. they told me 72 hours and tomorrow is their deadline Unless of course it's MY computer causin the prob, or maybe WC just went to a crappy service?

I can't get on either. Went to the Leader Board and tried to go from there with no luck. Let's hope it gets straightened out soon.

Trust me Tyee, it is road runners crappy service. Here us what I had to do to get around the site.

I typed in the IP numbers Dale provided and can get to a few places in the site, but none of the message boards. Save this as your favorites link to Walleye Central. Then you can get back there by going to the Favorites tab and clicking on the link.

From the home page I can click on Message Boards and the message center comes up. When you put the cursor on the link to the General discussion board, if you are using Internet Explorer, the boards own IP shows up in the bar across the bottom of the page. I typed that in manually and the General discussion page loaded. I saved it in my favorites. So I did the same for the other message board pages. To go to each message board I have to click the link in my favorites to get there.

Until Road Runner decides that they feel like updating their DNS files this is the only way to get to certain parts of the site. I think it is ludicrous not to update DNS files more often than Road Runner does. Some ISP providers update every night.

They told you 72 hours? The guy I spoke to said anywhere from 3 days to 7 days. I am not pleased about this.

I also want to be sure to thank Steve, Zach and the gang that run this site for allowing us to communicate about WC here.

Nofish, I don't have roadrunner and I typed in the IP numbers and all I can get is the mainpage. When I click on the message board I get no page found message. Maybe you can explain what I need to do. I contacted my service provider and they couldn't even get the main page to appear. They got a page not found message also. My provider told me they update daily or every other day at the least. This leads me to believe that WC still has a few bugs or issues to work on yet.

All I know is I am going nuts not being able to get in. I hope it gets better, I love that site along with this one.

Also a thanks from me for letting us sort this issue out on here.

WC works fine from my work, but not from home with RR. I think they are havin a real problem, as the posts are way, way down. Wonder how many will finally join in here, and see what a nice place we got here.

Zach, be prepared to add a bunch of new forums. I have a few ideas: Erie Dearie, Dakota Dams, Michigan Madness, to name a few. hehehe

I can assure you the site is up and runnin fine. The problem can stem from your provider not updating the DNS files or even if you havent cleared your browser cache, history and the old Walleye Central cookies.

Also if you are going in using a bookmark of favorites icon, be sure to update it with the nes IP#

As of 5pm tonight I can get anywhere as I used to, Road Runner updated the DNS files. I even pinged the site from home here, and all is well.

of course traffic will be down as some people still cannot get in. Some people do not ever clear browser cache and such and it may take some time. ALSO, it is deer huntin time, typically some of the lowest numbers of the season, every season.

And as to the nice site we got here, I like this band of brothers as it were......it is my home away from home.

Well, I cleared all my cookies and I still cant get past the mainpage. My ISP told me they could not access the site either. They also told me they have updated or deleted or whatever their DNS files and still nothing.

Looks like I will forever be without WC.

Crestliner

try typing in the new IP numbers - 69.56.141.58

Or have your ISP people try em. I assure you it works.

Hiya Mike!

Didja call your ISP about the DNS files? It took my ISP here 5 days to do it! Until they did I could only limp around. Try this until then...

Well, I tried all that mumbo jumbo and still can't get in. Just have to wait and see what happens. I'm far from being a computer guru but if the site is available why can't I just go to it like any other site? With so many people not being able to get it I would think the problem is with WC and not our computers or providers. I like this site a lot but I like WC too. Hope I can enjoy both like I did before.

I'm in, I'm in! Interesting how a little snaffu with a particular service provider (or persons) can turn a simple process into a complicated mess. I don't know what I would do all day if I couldn't get my fix from WF and WC? Really made me think this week what I would be doing otherwise.....humm......hummmm....hummm....I think I'll go back to work....This retirement thing is for the birds!!!!

Nofish,

Thanks for the "driving directions" back to Walleye Central. Been trying to get to the site for a week now here at work and couldn't get there. Finally went step by step with your instructions and got there without a problem.

I'll be heading to LBDN and Cedar River soon, if you're interested.....Jerry.
