I have 2 minkota trolling motors and would love to be able to interchange them . One is a foot control 80 that i love to use for bass and shallow water fishing . The other is a 65 with autopilot and has a plate for removal . However, the plate does not fit the 80 lb maxum. Thanks, Terry

I have rigged boats for both applications. With removable plates for both we have one on the bow port, and one on the bow starboard. Slide whichever motor on you want. I have also mounted power anchors to a removable plate for the 65 and put it on and off when fishing the spring runs. Plug it right into the t-motor plug. Just have to make sure it has the right system in the boat.

I have a MK-23 quick release bracket on my maxxum US2 80#. motor can be removed in seconds. lockable too. I like stackers idea of 2 different plates for your motors on the front. you should be able to switch in minutes. Start by removing any motor bolted to the boat and start from scratch. wash and wax the bow with nothing on it... pen and paper, 12 pack of beer and you'll figure it out. Check out the minn kota website for quick release brackets. since your gonna have the front apart, might want to check out your wiring and plugs too. I just replaced mine with minn kota plugs front and back...
Great idea stackman...

What I did on My Pro-V. I had a Maxxim mounted on a quick rel. bracket. Found a used quick re. maxxim bracket and a powerdrive quick rel. bracket cheap online. Had the powerdrive base plate welded to the Maxxim slide in (top) part of the spare bracket. I can switch out TM's in about 5 minutes, all out of one base mount. Hope this makes sense - the coffee hasn't kicked in yet . C-man

Let Me try again - sorry. My boat came with a Maxxim mounted on a quick rel. bracket. I bought another Maxxim quick rel. bracket and a Powerdrive quick rel bracket. I had a local welder weld the base part on the Powerdrive bracket on the top (slide-in) part of the extra Maxxim bracket. Now I can use either the Maxxim, or the Powerdrive motor I bought depending what the game plan is for the day. The Maxxim is preferred for jigging, while I like the Powerdrive trolling. The best of both worlds. Ofcourse this was BEFORE Terrovas came out . Bob

gonna need some pics chamook, you lost me too... not enough coffee.
Terry, sound like you need to first get a quick release bracket for both motors. if you don't already have them. check ebay. I like stacks idea of just one on the port, one on the starboard. matching plugs, bingo!
