Does anyone know were you could get just the springs around for the Offshore Planer Boards. Local hardware store? I know you can order through Offshoe but they charge an arm & a leg for their parts.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Use a #32 or #33 rubber band. You can get a couple thousand of them for $1.99 at Staples, and they are totally adjustable.

Go to fleet farm and grab an off shore tattle kit. Go to hardware aisles.
Find the kit with about 50 springs in it for a few bucks - there are some in there just like what you need.

I found the rest of what I needed to make my own tattles at FF. Little screw in eyes in hardware. Infishing tackle, find the "pour it your self" bottom bouncer springs. You can see how you would cut those off and bend to make little eyes just like the off shore stuff. Get a few beads from harness area AND viola' - You will have enough stuff to make 6 and share the rest with your buddies for less than one of the off shore kit. Plus you will have a bunch of extra springs - let me know if you think of something to do with them... Anyhow my tattles work great.

You can buy the wire here, put a bend in it, add a few beads and a rubber band, and have less than a dollar into each tattle flag. The rubber band allows you to adjust the resistance of the flag in less than a few seconds.

If you are in the Fox Valley (Appelton,Neenah,Menasha ) Kreugers True Value Hardware. I've got 3 set's 1 lightweight for harnesses,1 heavier for cranks and I just went Xtra heavy duty for pullin musky baits.

IF you in the Fox Valley go to the True Value Hardware Store in Kaukauna just off of County CE and HWY 55 and ask the man in hardware for off shore planer board springs and he will take you directly to the bin for about 5o cents a piece
