I have been fishing LOL for years using the $30 annual cross boarder permit , it allows me to fish either side of the Rainey River ,LOL without first going to customs each time. Each person in the boat requires these documents also neeed is a Ontario outdoor card and a Ontario fishing lic . the lic and card I get on line but the border pass requires actuallly going to the Candaina border outpost and applying in person ( takes about five minutes)

Thanks, the "cross border permit" is news to me. I've been going to the thousand islands for many years never had a problem. I also have the card and license too.

It is actually a "Remote Area Border Crossing Permit", it is good for the Canadian Shore of Lake Superior, Pigeon River, through to and including Lake Of the Woods,Cockburn Island and Sault Ste Marie , perhaps there are ones issued for other areas of CANADA
