Nope, went to LBDN and didn't catch a walleye.
Other than not trying very hard, will blame those pesky bass for not allowing the walleyes to grab our baits.
According to Naomi at Bayshore Bait $ Tackle, the warm air temperatures last week heated the water and slowed the walleye bite down. She believes that the next wave of cold weather will turn on the walleyes big time.
The picture (in the link below) of the big walleye hanging on Bayshore's wall is a replica of the world record. It is hard to believe a walleye can have such a fat girth.

Location: Corn, Corn everywhere, IN | I'm a "regular" on MuskyFirst but had to drop in and share my "hardcore basshead" nephew's first walleye with you. This young man is quite a stick and last Sat he got another bonus fish for his hard work while fishing a stump field in 10' of water with a parrot colored crank bait. It's an 8 1/2 lb walleye! Caught on Lake Monroe, IN no less. I hope you enjoy seeing it. Good luck this fall!

WOW!
Thats quite a dark walleye you have there. It really highlights the white tip on its tail!
Great Job! |

Location: Laona, Wisconsin | Semi-hot. Fished Cedar River area. Smallest was 21.5" and largest was 30". Also three tagged by Michigan DNR. All fish caught early evening thru early morning. No day bite. Fish were marked 15'-65' down at night but were gone except for fish on bottom in 45'-65' by 9am in the morning. Right on the bottom and would not take anything. Commercial fishing nets NE and S of river. Need to mark them during the daytime to make sure you do not run into them at night. All fish were caught trolling cranks just off the bottom in 30' - 60'. |

Expect this to be a weekly question, and PLEASE participate by answering. Lake X is OK, just let us know what you were doing to turn on the 'eyes! |
