| Reeds, Intake, Exhaust Tuner, ECM. I was told it is stronger in the low and mid range, it will turn more rpm's which = speed And they only make 20" no 25" |

Do they have this info on the Merc website at all? There is some heavy discussion about this on some of the bass sites and most are saying there is no difference other then the stickers. |

| That is the info I got from the Merc rep at the boat show. I will check with another source. |

Location: Berlin | They are saying the same thing you said but only for the 225 and 250. The 200 is supposed to be identical. I find that hard to believe. |

| Rich I found my Official Mercury Handbook it says the difference's between 200 Pro XS vs 200 Opti
Unique Intake Silencer
Exhaust Port Timing
ECM Tuning
It doesn't say anything about Carbon Fiber reeds like the bigger Pro XS models, it does spin at 6000rpm vs 5750 on the standard 200 Opti, rpm's equels speed. They said the standard 200 is actually making closer to the 220hp +. Like I mentioned before they said the XS 200 is stronger in the low to mid range than standard Opti.
I wish they made a 25" shaft

Location: Berlin | Now I am really confused. My limiter is at 5750. You sure you read that right? |

| I heard back the other day, the only difference between the Opti 200 and the Pro XS 200 is the 25" shaft vs the 20" shaft, the 200 Opti all ready puts out close to the over 10% that they can get away with. |

You could probably get the shaft low enough but the cowling would be under water. |
