Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | As many of you know, my last trip with Gatorbait/Jeff and WalleyeGuy/Nick didn't turn out to well. I slipped on the banks of the rifle river while sucker fishing in early April, ripped my leg/knee muscles severely, that in turn forced me to have surgery and ultimately (as it seems) ended my open water charter fishing carrier in my BIG BOAT.
So as you can imagine I was slightly apprehensive this morning joining (once again) Lucky and Luckier as we launched in Caseville and headed out to 30 to 38FOW for some walleyes. Things were going great even though we knew there were storms forecasted for the area all day. Well the catching part started out slow, but we were boxing some real dandies slowly but surely. Then we stumbled onto the honey hole just off a 38 foot ledge and hit a double. Around that same time we see this WALL CLOUD form almost above and behind the boat. Then we seen this water spout on the water maybe a mile behind the boat. Well, our course our attitude changed slightly (as well as my own feeling of inpending doom) after that so we/I took a stand and called her a day kinda early. Ended up with 8 nice walleyes, a couple monster cats and a sheephead. Oh and two gobies. But guess what? I'm still alive and walking as bad as I was when I left the house this morning.
