Since the new 3 rods per person law in out state. Ya want an extra rod holder out the back or side of the boat? Want to save some money, time and the drilling of more holes in your expensive boat? Want a holder that doubles as a tackle carrier and is moveable from one side of the boat to the other when your netting a fish at the back of the boat? You gotta 6 gallon pail anywhere around the house? I put a small amount of lead (about 6 pounds) in the bottom of the pail and given the holders angle to the pail, I've had very few fish double the rod over and tip the pail over. Also a neat idea for you ice fishermen using dead rods.

With water weighing 8 pounds per gallon. A man fishing in a boat or on a bank could just as easily put whatever amount of water and weight needed for the specie he's fishing for in the pail for the counter weight, versus the lead or other things. A guy perch fishing could also use the water in the pail for his fish.
