Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | I hope that the famiy does not mind me posting this. I thought his friends on WF would want to know. Tyee had a stroke while hunting in North Dakota. Flight for life flew him to the nearest hospital. His son Chase was with him and is with him now.
He is in stable condition and the rest of the family is on the way. Hang in there buddy. Love ya, but in that manly way. A big thanks goes out to Johnnie Candle who was called by Chase and dropped everything to secure the dogs and equipment. You are a class act my friend !!

| thank you everyone.....it is very hard to see rodger like this....according to the dr. he has made great improvement since he came in this morning. however, he can talk one word at a time and mostly short words like ok, cool, dammit, F**k...lol....he recognizes all of us and grabs on with his left side and wont let go. he has no pain and they are still testing a bunch of things like swallowing and some other basics. He is very frustrated and I know the good Lord along with everyone's prayers will help. Our family has gone through way too much this year and we wouldnt be able to handle it all without everyone's support. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING!!!! One thing, It was Chase's 20 birthday today and it will be one he will remember for the rest of his life! He saved his dad's life....
Will post more as we find out more. They are talking about trying to send him home maybe as early as tuesday to a rehab facility.
Thank you again from me and all my family!

Just want to give everyone a quick update. My dad was able to sit up today and hold bri (granddaughter)for a bit. He was also able to lift up and set his leg (on the side they were worried about) and also his arm on that side about 10 times each. He also has some pain in his ankle because when I was pulling him out of the car he kicked the windshield without knowing it. this is a good thing because he was able to feel pain and he hasnt had feel since the accident. He also was able to drink part of a milkshake and eat a grahm cracker today. It seems like most of his memory is back and is alking about work, hunting, fishing, the guys at Scheels and everything else. We still dont know when we will be back in Wisconsin but the doctors say this is the fastest they have ever seen anyone recover from the type of stroke he has had! it has been all good news today and all we can do is hope and pray for the same thing tomorrow. Thanks again to all the family for coming out here i know we couldnt do it without you. he says hi to everyone and he cant wait to "get out and use my gun in 2 weeks"!!! good goals to have. Just to recap on what Sunshine said Troy called Johnnie Candle and Johnnie has been a major help throught this process and has been watching our dog, picked up the car from Jamestown, and taking care of everything. we couldnt do it without you man...I know may dad is very appreciative and he truely says he cant thank you enough. He cant wait to get out on the water with you guys again |

It was my pleasure to help out. That is what friends do for friends. Rod is a great one at that.
Get well soon buddy and we will fish together next summer or fall. |

Location: Oshkosh,WI | First off, Johnnie......Thank you for everything!!! It brought tears to Rodgers eyes as well as mine when I told him that you were helping with the dog and car. A true friend indeed and if you ever need anything we will be the first ones to offer our help!
Awesome news as prayers continue to be answered. Rodger has been up walking around a couple of times now and he was also cleared with his swallow tests. As soon as the Dr.'s said he was cleared for "real" food, Chase got him a Mt. Dew and later a hamburger! He loved it!.....yummmmy.
He will be transferring out of ICU as soon as a room opens somewhere in the hospital. His therapy is progressing very well and the speech is sounding awesome. He still complains of not being able to write, type or read, but they say that is the last thing to come back.
His spirits are very high and while he was talking to the boys tonight you could tell he is ready to put this behind him and get home to shoot some geese!
Thanks for all the prayers and support, please keep him in your prayers...and wishes for a speedy recovery!

Location: Oshkosh,WI | Update!
They moved him out of the ICU and into a regular room yesterday. They have been doing intense therapy with him and are looking into a rehab facility. They are unsure of where he will go. The blood thinner he is on is what is keeping him in the hospital. Once his blood levels get to where they need to be and he can maintain them with his Coumadin he can leave. They are lo...oking at facilities closer to home around Milwaukee, Madison or Fond du Lac. My mom is pushing for him to get back home and he is insisting to stay there. Either way they are saying a 2 week in-house rehab program. We will know today exactly what is going on and he should be able to leave as early as today depending on his blood levels. His feeling is coming back more each day and hes dancing in his room with a few of the nurses....LOL Thanks again for all the support and prayers! I know Rodger appreciates it as well! |

| Update- first off Johnnie and Dennis I feel like im repeating myself but im sure I speak for Troy as well if either of you need anything at all we are right here. Couldn't have done it with out you guys... Next he got into rehab today. He is doing very well and everyday is more and more progress. His talking is improving everyday and today he went for several walks. It looks like he will be back to normal soon or as Dennis said (as normal as he was before) lol. The only bad part is the rehab is in Fargo north Dakota... Me and the rest of the family just got back to Wisconsin as he wants us to get back to a normal routine since he is doing fine and in stable condition. It was hard to leave but we are all pretty confident he will be finished with rehab fairly quick and back to his old self... Thanks again everyone will keep you posted |
