You are not allowed to wear any logo on your shirt that conflicts with an FLW sponsor on the last day (most televised) of the competition. Since the FLW is highly sponsored by endemic companies, that negates many companies that may be helping the angler with sponsorship. It's always been a sticking point with the FLW versus many of the anglers. It's pretty much guaranteed that if you are in another boat other than the FLW sponsor boat that they will not show much, if any, out-boat shots, and will edit in anyway to cut those very important (to the angler) shots out of the show. The boat is just one example. Now to make it fair, the FLW did relax their rules a bit last year by allowing day one and two open to the anglers wearing their regular shirts, and the internet coverage was very, very good and fair to all. It would be awesome if they would fully open their format so the anglers can also represent fully their sponsors, and I truly think that it would help the sport grow, as anglers might actually be able to procure sponsorship for themselves. The FLW is so strongly branded that I would doubt that it would hurt their sponsorships in the slightest way.

I think its about the money. The sponsors want air time, and I would bet that FLW Outdoors made agreemens with their sponsors to get them that air time. TO GET PAID.
I would bet that others like Gary not running FLW sponsor products want to get as much air time as possable. TO GET PAID.

It's not just the FLW. I've had pro staff and customers fishing the last day of the FLW and the MWC with cameras in the boat. You're lucky to get a good shot of your product, and any audio by the angler of your company or your product name is editied out. Just part of the business and respected. You didn't hear Downriver Tackle mentioned during the last day, did you? Though I did make a press release this year!!! My gratitude to the FLW staff for that.

I would consider yourself lucky to have a walleye circuit to fish...
