| On Wednesday December 14th, the walleye world lost another great angler. Leon Luker of Oshkosh,WI has passed on unexpectedly. Leon had competed in many local walleye tournaments on the Winnebago System, as well as competing in several circuits over the years. Leon had published fishing articles and obtained fishing sponsorships during his years of competition. Leon was a local guy that I looked up to when first getting my feet wet in walleye tournaments on Winnebago. Leon was one of the original competitors or pioneers in walleye tournaments and circuits. I believe he competed in the MWC and PWT when they originated. Leon had'nt competed for several years, but would occasionally be seen at a local tournament weigh-in. My condolences to the Luker family. | |
