Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Or one Pike is worth two in the bush.
Me and the PUP (Rosy) hurried up and went fishing this morning before the crappy predicted weather got here. I/we had a ball. And I'd have a lot more pictures of these fish, but left the camera and cell phone in the truck because of Rosy. :x
After I launched the boat I went to grab the Camera bag in the back seat and to collar Rosy to walk her down to the boat. She seen the opportunity and shot past me and out of the truck. So I grabbed her leesh and gave chase, forgetting about the camera. Got her in the boat and away we went. She acted great after that. Pretty much slept on her bed in the front all morning.
Anyway, my first 3 passes in my usual spots produced nothing, so I headed down shore towards my farthest Easterly waypoint. Got right on top of my mark and bang the outside rod went. Then the inside rod. Then the rod on the other side went. Holding onto the first outside fish I slowly turned the boat downwind and that kept me on course while I reeled in the fish. 2 Pike and 1 walleye about 3 pounds. All went in the cooler. Turned around and bang, a double. 1 Pike and 1 walleye. 2 passes I'm limited out.
So I figure what the hell, I'll throw back the pike and replace them with walleyes. Well, caught 3 more Pike that all went back and then nothing. It just quit. Stalled around a bit and tried some new water. Another Pike so I kept that one. Pulled lines and went in the river to a couple of my spots. First cast 4 pound walleye. 5 more casts another one. Ended up 4 walleyes and the one pike. Home at 1:30pm. Here's a picture I snaped real quick of Rosy picking out her two fish at the ramp when a guy parked there wanted to see our fish.
