Anyone have any experience comparing a Lund GL to the rangers? I am looking at the lund 208 or Ranger 620. I am wondering about ride and fishability.
Where are the batteries in a Lund GL
It seems like the Ranger packages all rigged are more bang for the buck.
Thanks for any input.

I see plenty of both at the AIM and FLW walleye events. The fit and finish, storage, and options are very comparable. The ride is as well, though some claim the big Lund is a little better ride. The glass work on the Lund is impeccable, especially since the sale of Triton and the move to a Brunswick factory.

Lund has some very nice fisherman generated features. Sit in both, go through the boat, and make a decision!

186 GL, but this will give you an idea. We'll have all the Lunds shot at the first Minneapolis show in January.

I fish Lake Erie all year and the big glass Lunds run circles around everything in rough water. Well everything in the class of boasts we are talking about . lol. Good luck!

Why don't you find a ride and go fishing in each and you decide for yourself, go out in some rough water and some calm water and compare the two and how they fish and to your style of fishing. I prefer having the storage bins in the back of the boat for easier access and the amount of storage crushes Lunds, I also like the benches better for doing rigging to having a sandwich no matter what you always have someone to set stuff down. They both ride very well and they are both dry boats and they both look good. I think bang for the buck the Ranger gets the nod but only you can decide don't let the internet tell you, treat the purchase no different than a car, drive them and put them through the paces.

Steve,
Can you explain what your referring to when you say the following:
The glass work on the Lund is impeccable, especially since the sale of Triton and the move to a Brunswick factory.

I must be missing something here because I'm pretty sure Triton's were built in a restricted Brunswick facility as well as a Lund and now Lund moved to a different Brunswick factory.

I have no bias between Lund or Ranger. Do your homework and take one for a ride in ROUGH water and pick the boat that fits you best. They both have totally different interiors and ride qualities.

Do the fiberglass Lunds have any wood in them or are they all composite?

Sure, I'd be happy to.

'The glass work on the Lund is impeccable, especially since the sale of Triton and the move to a Brunswick factory. '

The building of the Lund glass went to a new facility ( Sea Ray) after the sale of Triton, and the glasswork is impeccable. They are composite.

boatdoc is correct, Triton in Ashland TN- WAS a Brunswick company until it was sold to Platinum Equity d/b/a Fishing Holdings (Ranger, Stratos etc), and then Brunswick moved the Lund molds and production to their fiberglass facilities in Vonore (Knoxville) TN where SeaRay boats and couple others are built.
