Looking at a new/used boat with a 07 optimax 200hp, not really a mercury guy in the past. How are these motors, any issues i should be made aware of, thanks in advance, Kannon

Coils were the only problem I know of that year. By now I am sure if there were problems they would have been replaced so I think you are fine. Get the standard tests done and be ready to outrun the other brands.

Never any issue with my 2007. Great on gas and oil, too. Awesome motor.

I got my first merc a few years ago, 2008 opti 150. runs fantastic. I got 3 years with no proplems! that is unlike the previous 12 years with evinrude where I was stuck more times than not. GREAT on the gas and oil. keep up with maintenance, keep it filled with good gas( I run super unleaded) add some crap to the gas, many options, change that fuel filter once a year. I'll be running all Royal Purple stuff from here on out.
turn the key and go!! enjoy!
