| I've got 1989 90hp v4 , the overheating alarm will come on and stay on after running it for a short period of time , I will have to let it sit for approx. 15 minute's the alarm will shut off , question is , water pump or impellar or possible both .Any help would be appreciated !!!! | |

| your impellar is your water pump.....it could be either impellar or thermostat.....most likely impellar. 35.00 part and an hour to change it.... | |

| check for water spray at the exhaust. Also check water intakes for obstructions... Impeller is easy, may need to be replaced every few years... | |
