Hi everyone, this is just a friendly reminder and heads up to anyone who would like to be able to troll in Northern Wisconsin. On Monday April 9th, at 7:00 pm there will be several questions proposed at the Conservation Congress meeting pertaining to trolling. There is a meeting in every county where you can make your voices heard. Please get out to the meeting if you are able and would like to troll and vote for these proposals. You can view the specific questions online here.

http://dnr.wi.gov/org/nrboard/congress/spring_hearings/2012/2012%20...

The specific questions pertaining to trolling are 18-20, 51, and 75. Please vote yes to trolling. In my area there is a limited amount of lakes that allow it and in some counties it is illegal altogether. Please vote to open up more fishing opportunities.

Thanks for you time and consideration.

Dan

Thanks to all of you who voted to allow motor trolling in Wisconsin. The resolution passed 1928 to 1576!

Have a good and safe season!

Here, you can read the results for yourself if you don't believe me. http://dnr.wi.gov/org/nrboard/congress/spring_hearings/2012/Results...
Specifically question 75. I have to believe that something will be done to allow trolling in more lakes now that there was a popular vote for it. The DNR has stated on their website that it did not believe there was a reason biologically not to allow it, so I am guessing it is a go. Here is a DNR page that describes some of the history of trolling and why we don't have it now. http://dnr.wi.gov/fish/faq/trolhist.htm

It could. The Conservation Congress is simply an advisory exercise to gauge public opinion. Any changes to the regulations would still have to go through a formal revision process, the ultimate decision making is still in the hands of the DNR. Given the input on Question 75and the DNR's stance, those changes might be made.

Edited to add: HOWEVER,(yes, capitalized for emphasis), Questions 18,19, & 20 were all voted down in direct contradiction to Question 75. Weird.
