I added Lss1 and moved my sonar ducer and now have spray coming into the cock pit. Anybody have any ideas on how stop this? I lso now lose sonar depth while on plane. I do not want to put on wave wackers

Actually, looks OK where you have it. Looks like it's not quite level right to left, and maybe tilt it a bit down in the back? If you are losing bottom while on plane, you're losing contact with the water. Either you're getting air moving across from something on the bottom of the boat, or it's just not maintaining contact.

Where did you have the sonar ducer before?

I see you're ez-pump cover is gone, too. Tuffy boats has these. Call and ask for Lori.

Thanks for the reply Shep
1 I had the sonar ducer where the LSS 1 is now
2 I lose sonar depth on plane I do not care about losing LSS 1 depth on plane, just want to know how deep it is while running. When I had the sonar ducer in the orignal place I never lost depth.
3 Steve thinks the sonar ducer is too low so I will move it up and give it a try.
4 I took off the screen I was told it would interfer with the LSS 1

If you had your ducers mounted on a board, you could make a cover that you could mount over them. You still can but you'd have to drill more holes in the transom.

Cover is a good idea. I never had any huge spray from my transducers, but I think on my last Tuffy, it was lower than what you show on your picture, and I always maintained bottom while on plane, up to 60 mph. A little spray out the back, but not anywhere near getting sucked back into the boat.

I think moving it outboard that maybe it's not maintaining contact with the water while on plane? Does it register when you turn to the right, dipping that side of the transom deeper?

When I start out mounting mine, I also use a straight edage, and mount it so half the transducer is below the bottom of the boat. I also kick the back down just a bit from level. Try it and make adjustments from there. Usually have to go a bit deeper.

My suggestion would be to move the sonar ducer back to original spot and lss to the new spot. I would mount it so it was way clear of the bottom of the boat. A fyi is lss does not read over 5 mph. Make sure it is 2 inches from the bottom of the boat. You will eliminate all your spray and things will work as they should.

You have the transuducer mounted way to deep in the water if you need a spray cover. The crack down the middle of the ducer should be slightly above the bottom of the boat. They call it a skimmer transducer for this reason.

The ducer is split in half with the bottom of the boat. The pic was taken from an above angle. If mine was higer, I'd loose bottom. The pic doesn't show it but I had it mounted in various places with same results. No bottom or spray.

Just start adjusting it.. looks like your holes are good, id say level it out and put it as deep as u can with those holes.. No transducer spray shields needed.
