Location: Rhinelander | Bays De Noc have been both great and tough for the anglers during prefish, offering great fishing when one has located a good school and can stay with them. Reports of staying within a few miles and heading 40 plus miles south were common during the morning interviews.
The Angler of the Year title is on the line at this event, and the battle is close and could go to one of several Pros. It's that narrow a margin. Brett King heads out in the lead this morning and feels he needs at least a top ten finish to hold on to the title.
The weather is cooperating nicely with offshore winds. There's enough for a good chop which is necessary here, but not enough to cause issues. This water can be mean.
The weigh in begins at about 3 PM, stand by for images and reports from this morning, and later today form the stage.

Location: Rhinelander | The bite was FAR better than was predicted last night at the rules meeting and today in morning interviews, surprising even some of the Pros who did well today. It took 20 pounds to make the top thirty, and only 7 pounds separates first and thirteenth place.
Not much was said onstage about techniques and presentations, but the South Shore was mentioned enough to indicate that was the hot area for many Pros. The wind was perfect there today, and forecasts have a wind switch tomorrow which could cool the bite there and heat it up elsewhere.
Ryan Dempsey brought 27.15 to the stage to hold off Chad Schilling by just four ounces for the day one lead. The FLW leaderboard is here:
