| I am researching walleye boats that I will hopefully be able to get in the spring. I definitely want a deep V hull and the boat should be 16 or 17 feet in length. I plan to use this boat on lakes and flowages with varying sizes in northern WI, as well as the Winnebago system and possibly Green Bay as well. Mainly will be used for walleye and muskie fishing techniques. I will mainly cast for muskies, so I need a big deck. For walleyes I will jig and cast cranks on no-troll lakes, and pull boards on larger lakes like Winnebago. I hope to camp on islands and such up north, so I don't know if fiberglass boats would be an option. I have a pretty limited budget, so anything over 5K is not an option Here are my thoughts so far:
Aluminum:
-Lunds like the old 1700 Pro V, Pro Guides, Explorer or Angler
Fiberglass:
-Tuffy Rambage boats
-Ranger 680T or 680C Fisherman series
Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance for any advice.

| Well typically a glass boat will give you a smoother and dryer ride. Be sure to give any used boat a good once over, transom, floor for rot engine issues that could drive a used boat price up. Also glass boats typically have a bigger front deck. Nothing wrong with the Lunds either the Pro V will be built a bit heavier and more features. | |

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | Check out a used 1775 Pro V. But you may need to spend a little more for a better boat. | |

Location: Aluminum boat capital of the world | Doesnt hurt to look at a G3 as well. Picked up my new rig last month,a 2013 V164C and very happy with it.I am 95% musky fisherman,5% walleye. The storage in this boat is unreal for it size (16'5"Length x 88" Beam) I run a 40 hp on it due to lake restrictions, but proped with a 12 pitch ss I hit 28-29mph with my musky gear. The only down fall on this rig is the 7ft rod box,but my musky rods are telescopic if I ever need to store them. If you venture over to the MuskieFIRST forum, you can view the rig under the musky boats & motors under my user name.
