| Nope, it's not Red Wing, but it is the Mississippi River.
They will make the official announcement, as to where, very soon.

Location: Manitowoc, WI | No, it isn't too tough. I find it disappointing that a circuit such as the RCL would finish up it's season on skinny water like the Mississippi. There are many better choices like Erie, Green Bay, Bay de Noc, or Devils Lake which can easily harbor 200-250 boats versus the comedy of placing that many boats in a few key areas, such as on Pool 3 and 4 the last two years. Thought maybe they had learned something over the last two years, but I guess not. At least the walleye league championship will be on Bay de Noc. That was a great choice. I'm also disappointed that they do not go back to Saginaw Bay, which, IMHO, is one of the best waters to hold a major tourney. I will stop ranting now as it isn't worth the trouble.

| I see the Mille Lacs Tournament in Minnesota is on the same weekend as the Hunters Point tournament. That tournament is second only in size to the Wave Wacker on Mille Lacs, plus it is on a Saturday. The lake will be a zoo that day for sure. Too bad so many good hooks will be forced to make a choice between the two. | |

| Gee jerry, tell us how you really feel. See if I let you tease me anymore...lol
But, since you brought it up...
I think the RCL is putting the safety of all the competitors first, and making sure we have a full 4 days for the championship event. Going to the big water like you suggest, doesn't allow them a guarantee like the river does. I agree with their decision, based on my assumptions.

| It's in New Orleans. Expected to be a very difficult bite with some long runs involved. | |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Juls,
Sorry if I overracted. You are entitled to your opinion about where the RCL should fish. I just think it's foolish to have that many boats confinded to a few good areas. Now, if what I am hearing is true and the RCL is going to have a "true championship" next year, with only the top 50 qualifying, then the Mississippi River is a good choice. As it stands now, I do not plan to fish any RCL events due to work schedule conflicts. So, if they have a true championship, it will not affect me.
As for the big water vs. little water consideration: Yes, I know why they choose to fish the waters they fish. Safety of the fisherman and the desire to get four days of fishing in to determine a champion. Still think they should go back to Saginaw Bay as that was, IMHO, the best water we fished in 2002.

| Just paying you back for all your 'jabs' brother.
You will see 200 boats at the championship next year. What you're hearing is still rumors. That's not to say it won't happen in the near future, it's just not going to happen next year.
The regular qualifying events will be limited to 175 boats per tournament next year also.
