Location: Rochester, MN | Got out this afternoon and caught a good mix of walleye and sauger. Mostly sauger. Just kicked back and slowly trolled around with a three-way rig and minnows in 18-25 feet. Water temp is 35 degrees. Had a little bit of ice to bust at the landing below the I-90. A local bait shop guy told me that several bigger walleyes were caught downstream on a wingdam recently. He said they were all in the mid 20" size. |

Location: Rochester, MN | I was home last weekend and the north landing is in great shape and the river is wide open. The landing below the I-90 was not open and I doubt its open yet but maybe zach or someone in lax can give you a report on it.
I will check this weekend when I get into town. |

Location: Rochester, MN | The I-90 landing is open now. This morning there was one big sheet of ice that needed to be busted through but by the end of the day the ice sheet moved out. Photos attached.

| When I used to give river fishing seminars, I always told people to take the cummiest boat that they had and to dress as weird as possible and to sing real loud or constantly talk to themselves....that way people will think you're nuts and give you some room. Something about the river. It doesn't matter what kind of boat you have, you can still catch fish.
I remember one year when a couple of guys had 4 nice fish on a rope hanging in the water. They were trying to be sly, so instead of pulling up the rope when they moved, the guy in the front would hold the fish below the surface. On one trip up river he forgot.....you guessed it, nothing but fish heads on the rope when they got to their spot.
I'll be seeing you guys a lot in the weeks to come.
Keep the reports coming. I call my wife from the trailer every morning for updates and pool stages and flows.
