Location: Appleton | Congratulations to the top twenty five teams that made the 2012 MWS Championship. Thanks for fishing the MWS series tournaments.
The winds were pretty brisk with strong winds from the north/northwest resulting in limiting the boundaries for safety reasons. This added to a tough bite made things more of a challenge for the teams fishing. The cold winds made for a long day on the water and the walleyes did not cooperate. The sun was out occasionally throughout the day but it was still cold. The wind continued all day making for a long day on the water. Only three teams weighed a three fish limit. There was only a total of 23 fish caught weighing a total of 77.64#.
The team of John Schneider and Bill Bobber took first place with three fish weighing 10.44# winning them $4.000 plus the Lindahl LTD bonus which is a paid 2013 series entry plus $500 cash for a total of $5,600. Second place went to the team of Brian Keller and Larry Eaton with two fish totaling 10.20# for $2,000. Third place went to the team of Rich Henriksen and Tom Zollar with three fish weighing 7.70# for $1,500. Fourth place went to the team of Jim Keller and Travis Dittman with one fish weighing.6.82# for $1,000. Jim and Travis also had the big fish of the tournament with their 6.82# walleye winning them two plaques donated by All Sport and Trophy and two TRS gift certificates. Fifth place went to the team of Pat Mertens and Chris Osgood with two fish weighing 6.72.0# for $900. The remaining teams received at least $500 including two teams that were unable to fish. Complete standings can be found on our web page www.fishtfm.com
Following the tournament the championship banquet was held for the anglers and guest. Jason and Matt Miller were awarded the TRS The Reel Shot bonus (home of the JJ Keller fishing team) of $1,000 plus two plaques presented by Jim and Brain Keller. They were also awarded two plaques for Team of the year from the MWS and two plaques for being the Sibling Team of the Year plus a Navionics chip. The parent/child Team of the year is Mike Gengalo Sr and Mike Gengalo Jr received two plaques and a Navionics chip. The husband/wife team of the year Ron and Vickie Goldapske also received two plaques and a Navionics chip.

Location: Appleton | The teams were limited to going past a line from Long Point or Red Tail to Point Comfort. General feeling at the banquet although teams had fish going north of the line it was the correct decission. |
