new to trolling leadcore and looking for some advice. Was looking at trolling 3 color 18lb and was curious how deep that would get me trolling around 1 to 1.5mph.

I look at it 5' per color at 2 mph there are allot of variables are you going into current on river? Style of crankbait has some affect but go with the base line of 5' per color at 2 mph then learn from experience. The new Suffix braid is thinner diameter and goes about 7' per color at 2mph.

The difference between 1.0mph and 1.5mph has a factor of 3. which will change the depth be approximately the same. Lead sinks, meaning it is speed dependant.
At 1.0mph the lead will sink deeper than at 1.5 mph because of speed.

Based on my expierence, 18# lead core 3 colors pulling a stick bait w/50' of leader will reach 22' - 24' at 1.4 mph. This was on LBDN so waves might move that bait up a little bit. Current would be negligible compared to a river.
