I am surprised that nobody has brought up this subject, since it's a hot topic just about everywhere I've been today. What were your impressions of Brett Favre's performance last night?

I've been lucky enough to have attended games where a performance by a particular athlete was awe-inspiring, worthy of any superlatives one might add. But I think what I watched last night may have topped them all.

I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for Brett Favre to compete under the circumstances, since I do not have anything I've experienced to compare it to. The only other athletic performance I could compare Brett's to would be Michael Jordan's game 5 NBA finals performance with the flu/food poisoning.

I was fortunate enough to attend one NBA championship game: Game one of the 1992 Finals versus Portland where Jordan had 31 points at half, with a memorable shrug as he looked at Magic Johnson on the sidelines, who happened to be announcing the game. But last night, due to the circumstances, blew that away.

Does anyone have a similar experience they can compare?

i lost my mother-in-law the same way brett lost his father.it was on the same day two years ago. it is so hard right now.but i live my life now thinking about her every time i hit the water. when i was in high school my dad had a heart attack the night before our confrence championship. i was undefeated 26-0. i wasnt gonna wrestle the next day.i knew deep down that my dad would want me to.i got the strength to wrestle anyway.dad never missed one of my matches.needless to say i pinned five strait guys to the championship. to this day i can still hear him cheering me on even though he was in the hospitol.he ended up passing away three days later.i went on to finish third in the state finals.and wish it could of been different. enough of that. to much pain to think back.. i only live life now for the future.

That was a very touching story. Thank you for sharing it with us. As you discovered, when something like this happens we realize that we are not alone. Your dad was there cheering you on just like Brett's dad was there coaching him against the Raiders. Many of us who have experienced the death of a loved one can share similar stories.

What I saw during that football game was awesome. I saw an entire team stand up and fight for the broken heart of one man. They all played inspired football.

It was an inspirational performance by Favre and the entire Packer team. They really rallied around him and produced an awesome win. I've been a Raider fan since I was a kid and this was the first time vs. the Pack that I cheered for Green Bay. Here's hoping the Pack can find their way into the playoffs and continue winning.
