Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | I would say that the installer did not have the shift linkage from above in sync with the lower unit. They have to both be in the same gear when reinstalling the lower unit or you will have problems, well, like the one you have. If you have not done this before You should take it to the place that put the pump in and let them right there wrongs at no charge to you. They should be able to do it while you wait. |

| I took it right back 2 the dealer the day it stoped working. which was the first time out with it.The mechanic was sent out to me and told me what they did had nothing to do with it not going into reverse.Last yr at the milwaukee boat show talked 2 a guy from a different shop and said they should have fixed it. Used it all last year with no reverse but want 2 get it fixed as u can get in some jams even with a small boat.Well what are u going to do i'am not going back a second time but i have a long memory. It may just have cost them a boat sale this coming sat as my friend is going to buy a boat that they sell and was going to buy it there but now is going else where.Ralph. |

What did there mechanic say was wrong? Did they give you an estimate to repair. We have time now to take a look at it and tell you whats wrong, and make a estimate to repair. Call me and lets get it done.

| Let's see. Shifting works just fine before the impellor replacement. Take to dealer, and have impellor replaced, which involves removing the lower unit. First time out and no reverse. Take it back to said dealer, and they tell you it's not a result of incorrect installation? Hmm. Time to replace dealer.
I've seen this a bunch of times over the years, and it's always a result of not having the gear selector in the correct position when reinstalling the lower unit. I think I did that a few times. OK. Maybe just once.
That dealer should have offered to check it out at the least. That you used it like that for a whole summer speaks to your patience. I'd have blown a gasket the day they sent me packing.
Does this dealer know they are losing a sale? Your buddy should tell them, and why.
Take it to Fort Fremont. Denny's guys will take care of it. |
