Location: Collins, WI | Was out deer hunting tonight and saw lightning. Didn't see any deer, but I sure got cold and wet!

Location: Berlin | It was pouring rain here for a bit. You just don't see that in January very often. If this keeps up I will be breaking the boat out and pound some fish in the river in Oshkosh. Lets just hope people use some common sense when it comes to going out on the ice for the next week.

Location: Rhinelander | It rained, then sleeted, then snowed out on Thunder Lake yesterday. It was 35 degrees last night, and is forecast for below zero tonight. Sheesh!
I had a doe tag left, but only a north wind stand because my south wind bow stand is next to a snowmobile trail I allow through my land. NO north winds, not even borderline, since Christmas. How weird is that? So, I put away all my Bow gear, and got out ice fishing. We ended the season with 11 between my two sons and their wives, and Sue and I. I guess I really don't need any more deer this year.
One thing for sure, this weather won't kill any deer at this rate this year. With the overall kill not what our DNR was targeting, and the incredible number of deer up here, the T Zone in section 38 will be a good one next season!
