Location: Oshkosh,WI | Was out a bit tonight looking at some new spots. See a bunch a fish and plan on trying to catch some this week. Nobody around with viewing distance. I did not have any minnows tonight but they did seem pretty interested in the jiggin raps....Anyone else been out?

Location: Menasha, WI | I fished Indian Point yesterday morning. Worked the bar over by punching dozens of holes inside, on top of and out side the bar. Fished from 7' to 4' and out to 9' and did not mark one fish anywhere. From what I saw none of the other 30-40 people in Cowling Bay were doing any better. Three-quarters of a mile out the ice was a solid 7". Now that I have a better idea of ice conditions, I'm going to venture further out and try to work some mud in the deeper water later this week.

Location: Berlin | I don't ice fish anymore but a couple years ago I pounded walleyes all winter fishing near Gerkhes reef. In the mud but within 1/4 mile of the reef. Be very careful of the ice but if you can get there it should be worth it. It takes a little moving around but once you find them they will bite all day. Jigging raps worked the best all throughout the water column. |

Good questions about the raps, I'll add to your list, "what colors"?
As for driving, there is some traffic in enclosed bays like Asylum and Cowling. One the north end much of the lake has only been frozen for 8 or 9 days and as of Sunday that ice was only about 7". There are also big pressure ridges between the old ice and the new ice which probably need to be bridged to safely cross. |

Location: Berlin | They actually were the Nils Masters. I do not know the exact size. Blue and silver worked best most of the time and yes I did tip it with a minnow. Sorry for the confusion, I call them all jigging rapalas. Just like kleenex! |

| Some decent fish going on the north end. Once you get on the school the action is terrific.

| walleyes the only thing there? are they using tip-ups? I'm going to
try by winnebago landing. Also are they driving by Little Black Bird
Reef? Going out in late afternoon and fish till and thru some dark!

Location: Oshkosh,WI | You have to move around a lot but once you find them have fun! With all the snow cover now use extreme caution while traveling out on Winnebago.

Location: Berlin, WI | This weekend I was in a shanty and could therefore see clearly to the bottom (4-5 FOW). I was using small jig with wax worms and plastic. Perch were biting regularly but bluegills would come up to it - stare at it and swim away. It SEEMED (and I'm trying to find out your experiences) that the bluegills noticed me peering into the hole -- although I wasn't right there with my face in the hole...but kind of peaking over the edge. They seemed to be spooked -- while the perch weren't bothered at all.
What are your thoughts? It sure was frustrating!
Also, just a side story, all of a sudden the perch took off like lightening and then a northern, that appeared to be about 24 inches long, came slowly up to my tiny offering and just stared at it. He stayed about 5 minutes and finally swam away. I'm glad he didn't bite as he would have made quick work of my line and lure!

Location: Omro,Wi. | Don't feel like you are the only one the gills do that too,I've seem the same thing dozens of times.A couple of hints are to hold it right at the bottom of the ice,or lay it flat on the bottom,it won't work always,but it does help..hafe |

| Drill a smaller hole when they are spooky. I use a 4 1/2" hand drill when they are like that. It makes a big difference. Get it as dark as you can in that shack too. |
