| I just won this rod at the Otter St. Fishing Club banquet one week ago. It is a baitcaster rod (model RC72MM). I put a brand new Abu Garcia SilverMax low profile reel (purchased on Sunday) and it is spooled with new 10 lb Fireline.
I've never been a baitcaster guy (always spinning stuff), but I thought I'd give it a try. I have only taken about 20 casts with the rig. It chucks medium and heavy baits a mile, but the small baits not so well. It would be a perfect rigging rod for pulling flies. It is a medium power, moderate tip. Very light and comfortable.
I'm asking $150 for the set-up, so you are getting the reel for free.
