| We have open water down here and the saugers are still hitting.Went out yesterday and got some decent sized fish.Blue/white hair tipped with a minnow worked the best.

| Len,
Is there still open water after this cold spell this past week? Or has the river finally froze over? If so how much ice is there? Hoping to get over there for some river ice fishing for Sauger and Walleye soon. I was just about ready to pull the boat out again and head over there two weeks ago when a blasted cold front came through, 3 hours across the state to find out I cannot get the boat in the water would not be good. I hope you keep us posted here when you have decent ice to fish the river, at the long or short wall.

| Today was the first day that we got out on the Ice.We were able to get out to the long wall and got some small fish.hopefully the cold will stick around for a bit and we should be moving out farther by mid week.The one thing you have to watch is the conditions of the ICE I did find a few BAD spots.The current is running right off the Longwall.

| Len, (At Falling Rock)
How is the river doing these days as far as ice fishing goes. Last report from you said that you were fishing the longwall. Any ice up at the shortwall yet and if so is there any fish being caught? I hope you reply, I hope to get over across the state soon if the river ice is solid at the dam area.

| The ice is good out by the short wall and we are getting some fish but you can not get around the longwall to much current comming out of the lock.I'm hopeing that this will change soon.
