| The bite on the north end of pool 4 remains strong. Trolling #5 shad raps is still producing good numbers of walleye along shoreline riprap areas and the bay city flats. I have heard good reports pretty much all over lake pepin as far as trolling goes for that matter. The smallmouth bite is also fantastic right now on the rip-rap. Just pick a spot to start and start pitching tube jigs/twister tails/spinners and you will catch fish. The windy shorelines seem to be the most consistent. Remember to CPR these fish as they are a great sport fish! The area I know the most about is the dam. There have been numerous large walleyes caught in the past 10 days at the dam, the biggest being a 11 1/2 fish. That's BIG considering they're all spawned out! I've seen/heard of/photoed at least 15 walleye over 24 inches in the last 10 days or so. Now if you want action!!!.......WHITE BASS! They have been on a rampage for the last week up at the dam. When you're in the right spot, you can almost get one EVERY cast! It is a great place to take a kid fishing right now. They will love it. Again, remember to only take what you want to eat, if any at all. They are vulnerable as well. Good Fishing!
